been too long

I have been working out just not blogging. I am @ 30 days. Took a long time to get here. Just been lazy here and there in September. Weight loss is really none. Look better esp in my arms back and shoulders but would like to lose more weight. Need to do more cardio

Diet

Been doing ok there except for the weekends. Especially this past weekened where I was emotionally upset about something and I did everything I could to wipe out any positive gains I had made. I had so much soda, pizza, chips, dip, dessert, beer.... Just not a good time at all. But it was only the weeeknd. During the week I have been much better about my lunch and eating only a meat( chicken or tuna) a vegetable, and a fruit. Thats it and water. I have only dropped maybe 2 total pounds since I started but I do look alot better in terms of where the muscle is and where the fat is/was.

Been too long

I have not blogged but I have been working out mostly. I did not even look to see what day I was on the last time I blogged. Looking at the timeline I have, I have about 25 days in. I have not been as religiously working out as I was at 4:30 AM because I am tired. We had company come to town for a week as well and that threw my schedule off.

But the last two days I have done shoulders and arms. Gonna play tennis tonight for cardio and I have a match on Thursday. Friday I am gonna do legs and back and that will be the end of the first 30 days and I am gonna change up the routine. New exercises and new weights. Excited for this!

Gonna buy this supplement today. It aids in shredding fat for people who workout. Even though diet is the key, with my age I may need more help to fight fat. Don't expect too much results quick with this stuff. Most people say it takes like a month to see results

new supplement

Got this NOS concentrate. Pre workout formula to make me workout longer and stronger. Its purple bubble gum flavor which is not great. Problem is they say take it 30-45 minutes before workout...I get up at 4:30 to take that I would need to wake up @ 4(ain't gonna happen)

Day 16: legs and back

Did legs and back this morning. Had to modify with the pull ups as I did not have the pull up bar. Did shoulder presses instead with 15 and 20 pound weights.

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was bad for dieting and working out. Friday I did an off day workout and Saturday through Monday I did nothing. Ate poorly too. Chicken wings, french fries, pepsi, beer, milk duds....just not a good week.

weight

I read my blog and it seemed like I was losing weight early the first time I did p90x. Now I been going 15 days and I don't feel or think I have lost any weight. It may be because I am not doing the kenpox. I'm trying to get cardio done in other ways. Gotta get my cardio up!

Day 15 Plyometrics

Woke up this morning and got cardio in. I love that workout because it makes me sweat and I am not someone who sweats easy. Gonna do day 16 tomorrow morning( legs and back) and take off at least Saturday and maybe Sunday with the holiday weekend. Going to be tempted to eat poor almost daily.

Pictures coming at the end of day 20. Honestly, I am not sure how I look. My belly is down for sure but my weight is about the same. I would like to cut weight like last time but its not happening yet. Not sure when I started to lose the first time( maybe I shoudl read my blog)

Day 14

Soulders and arms this morning. Got up at 4:38 and it was a struggle. Last night I did nothing. My body was sore for some reason and I could not motivate myself to do anything. The thought of missing two days in a row is what got me up this morning.

Had only a shake for breakfast and I am starving right now. Had 2 muffins and a bannana as a morning snack and then a lollypop and some gum in between that( useless calories that I need to cut out)

My biggest issue now is the carido. Need to do more. Gonna wind up getting too big which is why I am not losing weight right now. Look alot better. Feel alot better but gotta up the cardio to take off some pounds

Been a while

I been working but not blogging. I have 13 workouts in. This past weekend sucked for eating but not too bad. Pizza, pepsi some cheese puffs...gonna workout tonight to mae up the miss from this morning(Monday)

Day 10: Plyometrics

Got up again this morning at 4:30 and got my workout in. Really trying to get my conditioning up so I am working hard. I want to be in better shape by my next tennis tournament in November.

Breakfast this morning was egg whites with baby spinach and feta cheese. Had a bannana and 2 blue berry muffins for breakfast snack. Lunch today is another frozen meal but it has a ton of protein. I did have a protein shot this morning after my workout.

Tomorrow is a day off but I will play tennis and/or skip rope. I am up to 1000 skips last time but would probably only do 500 and some resistance training.

Day 9: Legs and Back

Did legs and back this past Monday morning. I woke up at 4:30 AM and got the workout in. Was taking it kind of easy as to not push too hard after all that tennis this weekend. Ate pretty well during the day. Had oatmeal for breakfast and some bannanas and a frozen dinner for lunch. Had tacos for dinner and two pepsi's :(. Was tired and irritated and ate some Crunch and Munch before bed. Gotta eliminate those little empty calories and fat.

This past Weekend

Busy weekend. Had a tennis match that we won on Thursday night in straight sets. I came home that night and lifted weights( shoulders and arms). Friday was an off day because I had tennis again on Saturday. Saturday morning played 3 sets in the morning in like 95 degree weather and won. Then about an hour later played another 2 sets that we lost in like 110 degree weather.
Was totally done after the morning match. Got so tired that I had nothing left for that 2nd match. Not in great condition to come back like that anymore.

Food recently

Yesterday dinner was bad and due to situation that spiraled out of control, I had pizza for dinner. Luckily for me the pepsi I bought was the wrong kind( PepsiMAX) which tasted awful so I had no soda.

Been eating clean pretty much this week. Had Chinese for dinner wednesday night. Tonight will have taco's but only with shell and pico de gallo. No cheese. Gonna have a beer for sure tonight tho.

Lunch today is a Boston Market frozen turkey meal. Huge number of calories. fat is ok but it has 32 grams of protein which is pretty sweet

Last Night

I had my tennis match last night. Played for probably 2 hours. Won. Came home and had baked chicken and brocolli and a muscle milk. Then I pulled weights for a half hour. Worked on arms and shoulders just to get a lift in but not counting it as a day. This tournament is going through the weekend and I do not want to wear myself out-especially my legs.

Scheduled day off. Gotta watch what I eat today. My days off can turn into me gourging on bad stuff. Lunch and breakfast is clean. Gotta see what the wife cooks for dinner.

Should have tennis practice tonight for some cardio and I have a doubles match tomorrow night for more cardio. Day 10 should be Friday which is legs and back!

Friday day/night

Had to go into work late so I wokred out in the morning. Did the Plyometrics which is an insane cardio workout. Went to work and ate clean but Friday is pizza night. Had pizza( 3 big slices) and alot of pepsi. I am going to try and keep my pepsi/soda consumption to Friday pizza night. I been doing good so far!

Day 6 workout

After dinner tonight, worked out. For dinner I had baked chicken and mixed vegetables. Did shoulders and arms tonight. Tons of push ups and pull ups. Let me tell that creatin works. It makes your muscles recover super fast and you do not feel as sore as you would after pushing yourself pretty hard. I may have lasted longer the first time had I been on the Creatin last year.

Lunch Today

I had my kids alone today so there was no chance for healthy eating. Had Zaxby's. For those of you who are not familiar, Zaxbys is like a chik fila type place in the south. Fried chicken fingers and fries is what I had. No soda but enough fries to clog an atery I am sure.

How much Protein?

I was just looking at a formula on line to see how much protein should I be taking in each day with an active lifestyle. It said take your weight ( 165 ) divided by 2.2 165/2.2 and then multiply that by 1.2 165/2.2 X 2.2 = 90 grams of protein. I am looking at what I took in today for protein and I fall way short.

Instant oatmeal this morning 8.5 grams
Muscle Milk 25 grams
Can of tuna 26 grams
Egg Noodles 7 grams

My lunch had vegetables which had some protein but not alot. So in total lunch and dinner 66.5 grams of protein before dinner and I usually dont have the muscle milk which i bought this morning.

I gotta step it up to be able to lose weight and build muscle. Gotta find out where to get it ( protein) from.

This morning

I was to wake up and work out but I did not. I was way too tired. I am going to get a workout in tonight. I am either going to play tennis tonight or do a p90x workout.

Ate clean today. Oatmeal for breakfast, noodles, tuna, and vegetables for lunch. Mandarin oranges for dessert.

Ate clean all day today until dinner which is normal. Wound up @ shanes bbq. Had some pulled pork and ribs which were fine but had mac and cheese and frnch fries. Not good. So came home and tennis practice was cancelled so I skipped rope(500) and then did some arm exercises. Not counting a day but at least feel like I acomplished something today!

More weights

Yesterday I did nothing. My body was way too sore from the night before playing tennis. My legs are still dead a little bit. This morning, I did chest and arms but it was modified so I am not counting it as a day. I can see subtle changes in my body already just from eating better.

Ate clean yesterday. Chicken, vegetables, and brown rice for lunch... had cuban bread and tomatoes for dinner. I also had 2 beers but whatever.

Gonna play tennis today to get my legs moving again and try an official p90x day Saturday morning if I do not go out of town this weekend.

Late night Cardio

I joined a tennis league and played last night. Mixed doubles and I hate doubles. I played poorly because my conditioning is poor. I came home and I was upset about how I played and came home and lifted weights. I woke up this morning and my legs are killing me. Walking is a chore right now. I look like I am limping.

Gonna pull weights tonight. P90x day 2. Not sure what program I am going to do.

What I ate at night



You know I banned these as something I or people my age should not eat because I am too old to eat them anymore( like pop tarts). I just felt I was past the point of eating them. But the wife bought them and I got hooked on eating them at night and washing em down with pepsi. I was eating like 12 of them a night. First off I should have never banned pizza rolls. They are f@cking delicious!






This is what I ate during the week













In my 2 months off from working out, I ate super poorly. I ate these Hostess Cupcakes. I would say I ate about 6 of them a week.










I also ate The big slim jims. I had like maybe 3 of them a week. Generally with the cupcakes. And I also ate Lays BBQ chips. Love em. Pretty much was stopping for gas and getting all three and crushing them AND still having lunch on top of that. Pretty bad!

This week

Been back at it this week. I am not counting days( except for this morning) because I was modifying everything because I am so out of shape.

I did Plyometrics this morning. I woke up @ 4:45 AM. So lets count this as day 1.l I been lifting weights and doing modified versions of the weight days.

I think I am back in full time. We are going to FLA at the end of the month of June. Need to be in better beach shape than this

He's back

I'm back, I'm black, and I'm fat. Got three days of modified p90x in. My weight ballooned up to 170 pounds. Was not a good look. Personal stuff got in my way and i lost all motivation. Was eating like a crazy person(see next post). Drinking soda like water. My gut is/was huge. Not sure if i will post pictures. I might just so people can see how bad i let myself go. Fattest i had ever been. Last October i was around 152 so in less than a year close to 20 pounds of fat

Have not worked out

in a few days. Got some personal stuff going on that should be resolved in a few days and God willing will be resolved in a positive way for me. Pray for me and I will keep you posted.

On that note, I am still eating well. Have not fallen off with my eating at all. Just not working out. Maybe tomorrow but I think I am going to wait this situation out and hit it after that.

Day off today

Off today. Pizza night tonight and no Kashsi pizza. Full on pizza with soda. Its been such a rough week with the food. Gotta do better next week.

Day 14

Pulled the P90X double last night with Shoulders and Arms and ab ripper x. I felt prettty good. But I did have another poor eating night. I had chicken wings again. With fries and onion rings and pepsi. I ate all that before I worked out. So when I was about to take my pictures, i was looking pretty bloated. Not sexy!

Day 12 Kenpox

I did Kenpox this morning for day 12. I got up at about 4:30 AM. Popped in a creating and a glutamine and did the full routine. I had that egg/spinach scramble and then a protein shake before I headed off to work.

Going to Buffalo Wild Wings with friends tonight. I may have a beer or two which is probably better than 2 Pepsi's. Gonna load up on some wings tonight. Maybe they can grill them for me instead of frying them? I have never aksed if that is possible. I will tonight!

Day 11

Did a hybrid last night of shoulders and arms and chest. It got late at night and I wanted to work out my upper body so I went with this hybrid minus the pull ups. And I did and ab ripper x as well. I had to get something in last night as my planned day off is Wednesday.

Breakfast today

I had oatmeal and a protein shake. For my early morning snack, I had half of a protein bar. Feeling pretty good this morning although I should have worked out. I was up at 4:30 to work out but stayed in bed because I did not want to do Kenpox. Should have done it and gotten it out of the way.

Today

I feel much better both with being sick and my body. Most of the pain is gone. I took an 800 strong version of Ibuprofen last night and that did it. I probably could have gone this morning but decided against it. I know for sure I can go in the morning so I will be doing that.

Tonight is Pizza night so all diet eating is off the table. I had a sensible breakfast and lunch so I wont feel too bad about it. Will hit it strong tomorrow. Will skip the yoga and go to exercise 5 which is legs and back I think.

Super Sore and sick

I am so sore today. May have overdone it the first 3 days. Not sure if I am going to get the 4:00 workout in tomorrow morning. Going to take advil for the pain and see what happens. My abs are killing me and my legs and back...not much better. Gotta push through tho

Day 4 Classic p90x

Is to be Yoga X which if you read this blog in the past, I did not do and did not like doing. I just feel like a tool doing yoga; although I know its because I lack flexibility and cannot do the moves so I get frustrated. Thursday Dinner

Thursday is usually Taco night. Last week I ate 9 taco's and like half of a 2 liter of pepsi. I am not sure what the wife is making for tonight but portion control needs to be in my head if its tacos.

New snack


New snack I found at Vitamin World. Detour Bar. Very good. Tastes like a Snickers. 30 grams of protein which is nice. Its literally a meal replacement so I only eat half of one every other day.

Breakfast this morning


I had instant oatmeal and a protein shake mixed with 1 banana and 5 strawberries. Been doing a good job of not eating too poorly which is probably why my weight has not ballooned.

Stats

My weight as of last night post workout was 162 lbs. My lowest after doing P90x for 45 days or so was 150. Even at that point, I was not working out but I think my metabolism had gotten so fast, I was still cutting weight. Now I am heavier but not too bad. I was 172 when I started last year. Still need to cut weight. Still need to cut soda. Its been since dinner monday night since I had one.

Back on the Program

Started P90x again. Had not worked out in a very long time. Lots of stuff going on and still going on but I need to take better care of myself. My son told me I was getting a belly like my brother and my brother is huge.

Did day 1 last night which was chest and back. Will post the numbers in a later post.
Did day 2 this morning at 4:30 AM which was Plyometrics.

I have small group at church tonight but the plan is to do day 3 Thursday morning at 4:30 AM.

Headed to Florida in April. Gotta get beach body ready!

weight

When I was going my hardest i was actually down to 150. right now I am about 156. I am softer than I was which is upsetting

Back on the system

On Monday, I was able to sneak in a workout but I did not count the day. I did that again on Tuesday and then last night( Thursday). Still not counting the days. I am trying to get my self back into shape. I will start counting days on Monday. Been watching my food intake. That is the hardest part...teaching yourself to not eat crap!
